How Does a Viatous Competition Work From Start to Finish?

How it works · Équipe Viatous · 7 min

A Viatous competition follows several defined stages, from product presentation through to winner selection and product handover. Here is how a competition generally works, step by step.

1. The competition goes live

Each competition features an identified product offered with a partner brand.

Its page presents information including the product, its characteristics, brand, visuals, stated value, the price of a paid entry and any specific conditions that apply.

2. Entries open

Some competitions are available from €0.50 per paid entry.

A logged-in user can purchase up to three paid entries per competition, subject to availability.

A free entry, with no purchase and no account creation required, is also available for each competition.

3. Each entry gives access to a challenge

Each entry has its own challenge and its own result.

The challenge consists of three stages: tapping the displayed bubbles, tracing the requested path, and then answering a general knowledge question.

The time used to complete the course and the time needed to answer the question are added together to determine the entry's total time.

4. Eligible entries are ranked

Only entries that complete the challenge and answer correctly within the applicable time limits are included in the ranking.

Speed alone is therefore not enough: the course must also be completed and the answer must be correct.

5. The competition closes

New entries stop being accepted when the paid-entry quota is reached or when Viatous closes the competition under the applicable conditions.

A period of at least 30 minutes then takes place before the results are finalised, allowing existing eligible entries to complete their challenge.

6. The winner is determined

Among entries that answered correctly, the one with the best total time wins the product, subject to the checks provided for in the competition rules.

If there is a tie, the entry recorded first takes priority. If the tie remains, the entry numbers are used to determine the ranking.

7. The winner is verified

Before the product is handed over, Viatous verifies the winner's identity and age.

For a winner with a paid entry, verification is carried out through Didit from their personal account. For a winner using the free entry route, the process is handled directly by the Viatous team.

8. The product is handed over

Once verification is complete, Viatous determines the applicable handover method. The partner brand then arranges delivery or collection of the product.

The winner does not have to pay the remaining value of the product in order to receive it. Any specific formalities are stated in the competition conditions.

A structured process at every stage

From competition opening through to product handover, each stage follows defined rules governing entries, ranking and delivery to the winner.
