What Makes a Product Attractive in a Competition?

Competitions & Skills · Équipe Viatous · 7 min

Not all products generate the same level of interest. In a Viatous competition, certain characteristics can make a product easier to understand, more desirable and more engaging for participants.

A product that is immediately recognisable

A strong competition product should be easy to understand within a few seconds. Smartphones, consoles, watches, cameras, premium products or vehicles are examples of categories whose use and value are generally easy to identify.

The clearer the product is in terms of its purpose, positioning and characteristics, the easier it is for participants to understand what is being offered.

Desirability matters as much as value

A very expensive product is not automatically more attractive. Desirability also depends on usefulness, design, rarity, popularity or premium appeal.

A product that matches participant expectations may therefore generate more interest than a product that is simply more expensive.

Clear information for every competition

Each competition page presents information including the product, its characteristics, brand, visuals, stated value, the price of a paid entry and any specific conditions that apply.

This information helps participants clearly understand what is being offered before they enter.

The product does not change the ranking rules

Whatever product is featured, the competition principle remains the same.

Each entry gives access to a three-stage challenge: tapping the displayed bubbles, tracing the requested path, and then answering a general knowledge question.

The time used to complete the course and answer the question is added together to determine the entry's total time.

Performance remains central

Only entries that complete the challenge and answer correctly within the applicable time limits are ranked.

Among them, the entry with the best total time wins the product, subject to the checks provided for in the competition rules.

Products offered with partner brands

Competition products are offered with partner brands. They may be provided by the brand or acquired by Viatous under the agreement concluded with it.

Participants do not list their own goods and do not organise competitions themselves.

A strong product creates a stronger experience

A clearly identified, desirable and well-presented product increases the appeal of a competition. However, the outcome is always determined by performance in the challenge.

On Viatous, the product attracts attention; skill, accuracy and speed determine the ranking.
